Tennyson Stud
Tennyson Stud is a small boutique stud producing modern riding horses. We aim to create a welcoming environment in which to share our knowledge gained over many years to help you find your unicorn.
Since July 2022 Tennyson Stud relocated from the Hawkesbury to the Southern Highlands. The services we offered in the Hawkesbury have contributed to our knowledge, these services are detailed below (Tennyson Stud 1.0). In the Southern Highlands we are now focused on our breeding and development program (Tennyson Stud 2.0).

Breeding - Tennyson Stud 1.0 and 2.0
Tennyson Stud is very proud of it's breeding program, started at Tennyson Stud 1.0 in 2007. We were very lucky to begin the program with such a wonderful stallion - Worldwide PB. He gave the progeny a fantastic rideability and temperament, a liquidity of movement and super walk and canter and beautiful faces.
The new Tennyson Stud 2.0 continues to offer an opportunity to buy embryos in-utero, foals, weanlings, youngsters and also trained performance horses.

Lessons
Claire began teaching many years ago and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge. As a rider and competitor she understands the journey and developed a huge number of exercises to help her students reach their goals. She coached at all levels, both amateurs and elite riders.
Claire ceased giving lessons after leaving the Hawkesbury. Whilst not available onsite at Canyonleigh, she is willing to consider opportunities to educate and give clinics offsite.
The tools Claire learnt as an educator are now being employed at Tennyson Stud 2.0 to refine and enhance the training of the youngsters in preparation for competition and sale.

Training
Claire has trained many horses over the years, from young stock through to FEI. Of utmost importance is a good work ethic, the horse needs to transport the rider in the most comfortable way possible. Horses are trained at Tennyson Stud to enjoy their work and harmony exudes from them all. Each is trained to be responsive to light aids which are invisible to the spectator. Cross training is important to keep the horses stimulated in their work. Claire since July 2022 is only training her home bred horses.
TS Wow and TS Ducati
Tennyson Stud has improved top class facilities. Young stock grow up in large paddocks in a herd grazing on lush pasture. Once broken in they live in individual paddocks with shelters. Claire believes in the importance of the most natural environment for the horses for both their physical and mental wellbeing. There is a full size, well maintained dressage arena, round yard and extensive network of wide laneways to use for cross training her ridden horses.

Competing
Claire has been a top competitor for many years and has shown extensively in young horse classes through to FEI. Freestyles are a speciality of hers, she enjoys the freedom and expression they allow.
At Tennyson Stud 1.0 Claire helped her clients plan a competition future for their horses and fulfilling their dreams. Since July 2022 Claire only competes her TS ridden horses to prove and market the Tennyson Stud bloodlines and enhance the value of horses for sale.

Open Days
TS Dubai and TS Whitsunday
Tennyson Stud 1.0 regularly held open days where clients and colleagues, whether they were riders interested in lessons and training or prospective breeders or buyers could come and have a fun, informative day. Claire presented a number of horses and discussed her training methods of each and regular attendees could enjoy the progression of the horses. A quick tour of the stud was followed by lunch and maybe a wine or two!
Since July 2022 prospective buyers can instead call Claire to arrange a personalized visit to see firsthand the horses currently for sale and enjoy a tour of the property.
